OFC 2026 update

After decades of covering global networks for market research firms and trade publishers, I’ve struck out on my own to form an independent consultancy, Forthright Insight, LLC. My initial clients are more market research and consulting firms, spanning the connectivity supply chain from optical transceiver deployments to submarine cable bandwidth transactions. 

Conferences are my favorite part of the job, so I look forward to returning to OFC in Los Angeles, March 15–19 with LightCounting. I look forward to getting re-acquainted with this end of the business. It's been a decade since I've attended, and that was a return after a longer hiatus. 

I actually got my start as a scribe for Optics & Photonics News, OFC co-sponsor Optica's membership magazine. I attended several OFCs as a staffer back in very different times. Can wait to reunite with some blasts from the past!
